3.5. Reconsidering system boundaries at later stages
During the initial phase of the WEFe Framework 2.0, the boundaries of the focal area were defined, but they may need to be adjusted as the understanding of the WEFe nexus problem evolves. This is because the problem may turn out to be different from what was initially assumed, requiring changes in the biophysical and/or socio-economic boundaries of the focal area. If the boundaries of the focal area change from those originally defined, the description of the boundaries (see output above) needs to be adapted. This includes an update of the map and of the description how the system boundaries relate to (other) administrative and/or biophysical boundaries.
