3.3. Stakeholder workshop: Participatory system mapping

Participatory System Mapping (Lopes and Videira 2017; Sedlacko et al. 2014) is:

  • Essential for analysing the WEFe nexus as it provides a holistic view of the interconnections between the systems.
  • Enables the identification of feedbacks, synergies, and trade-offs, facilitating more informed decision-making.
  • Promotes the engagement of diverse stakeholders, integrating local knowledge into the analysis of WEFe interlinkages.

Furthermore, PSM combines qualitative and quantitative data, offering a more robust analysis and helping to formulate effective, contextually tailored management strategies.
